I, industrial. (1) Purpose. This district is intended to create and preserve areas for intensive activities and land uses that have the most potential for impacting adjacent land uses and infrastructure (e.g. heavy industrial). This zoning district should be located in areas with access to roadway and/or railway transportation systems. (r) PF, public facility. (1) Purpose. This district is intended to create and preserve areas for public or semi-public facilities such as schools, churches, fire stations, civic and community buildings, and utility buildings and facilities. This category includes uses developed either by public or private capital which may be public or may be restricted, as in the case of private clubs, but in both cases, a large number of people use the facility and the use is generally public in nature. (s) OSP, open space and parks. (1) Purpose. This district is intended to create and preserve areas for open space and parks and may also be applied to areas reserved for drainage facilities and public utilities. This district includes uses developed either by public or private capital which may be public or may be restricted, as in the case of private clubs. (t) PD, planned development. (1) Purpose. This district is intended to encourage flexibility in the development of land to promote the most appropriate and compatible uses; improves design, character and quality of new development; facilitates the adequate and economic provision of streets and utilities; and preserves the natural and scenic features in the community.
