Circle C Oyster Ranch is an oyster aquaculture facility sited on 1.25 acres overlooking St. Jerome Creek. The property includes a large on-site building that is partially unfinished and requires a roof replacement. Aquaculture operations are supported by both a production lease area and a smaller nursery lease area adjacent to a pier, which is configured to reduce harvesting regulations; the production lease is approximately 2.27 acres (about 988,812 sq. ft.) and the nursery lease is approximately 5,000 sq. ft. An 8-foot-wide pier extends approximately 100 feet into St. Jerome Creek and includes two pier “fingers.” The grow-out oyster leases have been tested and approved by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), and the facility has an active Shellfish Processing Plant License.
