ACCESSORY STRUCTURE: A structure incidental and subordinate to a permitted principal structure that is consistent with the structures and uses permitted in the zoning district in which it is located (see Chapter 2.7 for additional requirements). A structure that is functionally part of the main building, enclosed by a roof or wall and not substantially open to the environment shall be considered an appurtenance to the principal structure, and not an accessory structure.
