Highway M-28 is approximately 1 1/2 miles northeast of the property, providing access to hiking trails through old-growth forests leading to the rocky shoreline near the mouth of the Laughing Whitefish River and Lake Superior. A public access site with a small gravel ramp for boat access is located at the end of the trail. M94, a few miles south of the property, provides access to the 1,728-acre Laughing Whitefish Lake Preserve, situated between the Laughing Whitefish Falls Scenic Area and the Hiawatha National Forest. The area is known for outdoor recreational activities.
