The following uses and structures are permitted in the GB general business district, subject to approval of a special use permit by the town council as set forth in article VII of this appendix: (1.1) Any newly constructed or enlarged building containing greater than 30,000 square feet of floor area devoted to retail and related accessory use Recommendation: Remove provisions for screening of parking in the front yard and replace them with more comprehensive parking location and screening standards to be added in Article V. Justification: Parking location and screening is a significant factor in making streets more visually attractive and walkable. The provisions for parking lot screening should apply more broadly and not just in the G-B District. They should be addresses comprehensively as part of development standards in Article V.
