The purpose of this district is to provide areas for a wide range of industrial activity that conform to a high level of performance standards, that can be located in close proximity to residential, institutional and commercial areas without objectionable influence and that can serve as a buffer in some cases between more objectionable industrial activities and residential and/or certain commercial areas.
