Located off Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo, SLO Ranch Farm and Marketplace is a new project featuring five main buildings surrounded by a large working farm. The Farm and Marketplace aims to preserve the community’s farming roots and the historical significance of the site. The development includes several spaces: The Market, an open-air building up to 3,000 square feet, with an additional 2,000 square feet of retail space for local produce and groceries. A 5,000 square foot restaurant space is designed with indoor-outdoor seating. The retail shops offer up to 10,000 square feet of space, suitable for tenants such as ice cream and confectionary shops, ranch and farm supply stores, kitchen and home goods stores, and tourist and clothing shops. Agricultural processing space of up to 10,000 square feet is designed for a winery, brewery, distillery, cider house, or creamery. The historic house will be repurposed as an on-site cultural heritage center office, with potential for additional offices, classrooms, or caretaker’s quarters. An outdoor bar will support the tenants and provide refreshments with a view. An event stage will be used for bands and public and private events. The property also includes nearly 40 acres of prime agricultural farmland, nearly one acre dedicated to interactive seasonal crops such as pumpkin patches, hayrides, and berry picking, animal pens for livestock such as sheep and goats for a petting zoo, ponies for rides, and chickens, community garden plots for local residents, and up to 10,000 square feet of farm accessory buildings for farm and crop storage or tenant storage.
