The Atrium Office Building, originally constructed in 1885 as part of the Northern Pacific Railroad's 'Como Shops,' represents a historic restoration. This facility played a significant role in the economic development of St. Paul and the westward expansion of the country. Following a change in ownership and the phasing out of its original purpose, the property underwent renovation. In the mid-1980s, it was transformed into a retail and restaurant destination, but it faced challenges due to competitive pressures. The campus was known for housing the Minnesota Children’s Museum, the Twin Cities Model Railroad Museum, and the Dakota Jazz Club. The brick-and-timber building, listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, was acquired in 2002 and repositioned to attract professional and service firms. The building features an open central atrium, and the campus includes a landscaped courtyard and elements from its past, such as a rail car housing the building’s back-up generator. Situated in Energy Park, the campus is near sports fields, local shops, restaurants, public transportation, Como Lake, and Como Park's amenities, including a golf course, pool, parks, trails, zoo, and conservatory.
