Historic Downtown Jacksonville Skyscraper
Constructed in 1909, 121 W. Forsyth Street, originally the Atlantic National Bank Building, was built during a period of skyscraper construction in Downtown Jacksonville. Upon completion in 1909, the building stood at 135 feet, making it the tallest building in Jacksonville and Florida at the time. The building's exterior features white Sylacauga marble on the bottom two floors and white terra cotta on the upper eight floors. The facade incorporates ornate detailing, two-story columns around the entrance, and a combination of gothic and decorative elements. In 2024, the Atlantic National Bank Building was renamed the JU College of Law Building. An underground corridor exists beneath the building, originally designed for secure financial travel between buildings.
