Historic Yarbrough Office Building

The historic Yarbrough office building, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is a boutique office building consisting of approximately 43,670 square feet. Located at the southwest corner of Washington and Holmes Street, it has direct access to the only I-565 interchange accessing the downtown area, providing ready access from the Huntsville International Airport and major surrounding areas. The interstate system allows for convenient access from areas such as Nashville, Tennessee, Louisville, Kentucky, Birmingham, and Montgomery. Constructed of brick and reinforced concrete between 1922 and 1925, the four-story structure with a full basement is significant for its history as one of Huntsville's premier hotels during the 1920s and as a major structure designed in the Commercial Brick style. The top three floors contain small office suites, while the ground floor features the lobby and storefronts. The building operated as a residential hotel until the late 1950s and was renovated in the 1980s as an office. This office building is ideally located in the middle of the downtown revitalization, with major mixed-use apartment complexes such as Belk Hudson and The Avenue flanking both sides of the project. The building is within walking distance of Huntsville’s downtown restaurants, pubs, Big Springs International Park, the Von Braun Civic Center, and the Medical District, with convenient access to all parts of the city. It is located in the Downtown Huntsville Entertainment District, offering pedestrian-friendly access and convenient parking, as well as easy access to Memorial Parkway and I-565.
