    Overview

    Recreational Land with Rustic Cabin

This recreational property, known as 'Cabin on the Little River', features a rustic, off-grid cabin suitable for year-round use. The property borders the Little River, a trout stream, and a freshwater wetland. Access is provided via a gravel, seasonal use, abandoned Town road (Fisherman's Bridge Road), which serves as the easement to all lots in the Birmingham Woods Subdivision. A property survey from 2002 shows corner markers and boundary lines. The cabin was constructed using native softwood lumber, featuring Adirondack-style wood siding and a painted steel roof. The open front porch offers views of the surrounding nature. The cabin's interior includes a spacious, open first floor with a kitchen sink, propane cooktop and lights, and a multiple-use loft. The original intent for the shed was a privy. Electric and communication utilities are unavailable. The 8.92-acre property is relatively flat, with roughly half forested and half freshwater wetland. The forested portion contains middle-aged and mature forest vegetation, dominated by eastern hemlock, red maple, and yellow birch, along with white pine, sugar maple, black cherry, white ash, American basswood, and American beech. The land and access road provide opportunities for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing, bird watching, hunting, and ATV riding. Fisherman's Bridge Road doubles as Main Corridor, C4 snowmobile trail during the winter months. The Little River is a tributary of the West Branch of Fish Creek, traversing the property's western boundary through a Freshwater Wetland. Brook and brown trout can be found in the river. The Salmon River is located approximately 20 minutes north, and Lake Ontario is about 45 minutes west. Wildlife species in the area include whitetail deer, black bear, snowshoe hare, ruffed grouse, turkey, and waterfowl. Hospitals, groceries, hardware, and department stores are less than 30 minutes away in neighboring communities, and Syracuse International Airport is located off 81, just north of the city.
