This 841-acre tract, known as the Gore Tract, is located in northern New Hanover County and presents significant development potential. The site consists primarily of loblolly pine plantations with minimal hardwood. Situated just off the newly completed I-140 (Wilmington Bypass) and Sidbury Road, the property is located minutes from the heart of Wilmington. The Military Cutoff Extension will connect to I-140 at an interchange south of the tract. Future NCDOT plans indicate that the Hampstead Bypass will have an interchange at the southern border of the Gore Tract, bisecting it as the bypass heads north. These upcoming road improvements are expected to stimulate development of the last remaining large land tracts within New Hanover County. The tract is currently accessible via a well-maintained dirt road system. While wetland delineations have not been completed, the tract is believed to be largely upland and features substantial ditching for water drainage.
