The Sanctuary is approximately 62.58 acres of rolling terrain bordering the 8,295-acre Pat Mayes Wildlife Refuge. The property offers opportunities for hunting trophy bucks, boating and fishing on Pat Mayes Lake. The land features elevation changes, build sites, a road system, a meandering creek, mature trees, and food plots. Wildlife includes whitetail deer, turkeys, ducks, dove, hogs, coyotes, and bobcats. The property is situated in the Red River Basin and Post Oak Savannah Ecoregion, 19 miles from Paris, TX, and 105 miles from DFW. There are only 50 Wildlife Management Refuges in Texas. Electric and city water are available at the road, and water wells in the area range from 67 to 175 feet. Vegetation includes post oak, water oak, red oak, blackjack, white oak, pecan, loblolly pine, honey locust, cedar, and native grasses. Improvements include an extensive interior road system, build site, and food plots. Current and potential uses include hunting and recreation. Access is provided by a paved FM road to a 50' deeded easement. The property is located in Lamar County, 19 miles north of Paris, TX.
