Initially used as a grocery and dry goods store, each store would make a great restaurant, apartment, or retail store. The apartment, a former bank constructed in the Folk Victorian style in 1902, retains its cast-iron columns, transoms, corbelled brickwork, and cornice with dentils and paired brackets. The stamped metal threshold still identifies the building as Bank of Calhoun. Double wooden doors mark the street entrance, opening to what was once the bank lobby. There are exposed brick walls with embossed tin cove molding and rustic wainscoting. The open floor plan includes a small kitchen, dining area, and living room. Another set of double doors from the living space opens into the main bedroom. The main living area features 14 ft ceilings. Distressed wainscoting in various wood tones, painted brick, and wooden ceiling beams create a cozy atmosphere for the main bedroom. The guest bedroom has exposed brick with an entrance into the main adjacent store. The main bathroom leads to a large walk-in closet, which also leads into the laundry room and bathroom for the store. A courtyard outside the main bedroom has checkerboard pavers, grass, a sink, a stainless-steel counter cabinet, space for a grill, and a wired 16'x36' open shelter. There is room for parking an extra vehicle or golf cart behind the kitchen area. This apartment was featured in the March-April 2021 Southwest Georgia Living Magazine. Two vacant commercial lots are included in the sale. The lot size is approximately 0.11 acres.
