Palo Pinto Lake Recreational Ranch
This 1084-acre recreational and waterfront hunting ranch in Palo Pinto County offers a blend of luxury accommodations, landscapes, and recreational activities. Located 67 miles west of Fort Worth, with access off FM 3137, the ranch provides a rural getaway with convenient access to city amenities. The property features 1.35 miles of Palo Pinto Lake frontage, seven stock tanks, and seasonal creeks. The ranch includes a 900-acre high-fenced area with elk, red deer, axis deer, fallow deer, black buck, oryx, sika, aoudad, whitetail deer, turkey, and hogs. All animals, feeders, and blinds convey with the sale. Fishing opportunities abound in Palo Pinto Lake and the stock tanks, with largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, white bass, and hybrid striped bass. The high-fenced portion of the ranch is about 1,000 acres, including a 100-acre soft release pen. The ranch has elevations ranging from 870 to 1,240 feet. Improvements include four fully furnished Ulrich Cabins built in 2020 that can host up to 24 people, a 2,000-square-foot entertainment lodge with a bar, commercial appliances, glass garage doors, two bathrooms, and a kitchen, along with a stone firepit. Potable water is supplied by Palo Pinto Water Supply, with rural water routed to a single location near the cabins and lodge. There is an approximately 1,200-square-foot metal building with electricity and a walk-in freezer for storage. A long-range shooting lane has been created using metal targets along the power lines. The property has an extensive inner and perimeter trail system and a variety of hardwood trees. The ranch has potential as a personal hunting oasis, an executive hunting retreat, a development area, or a short-term rental. The property has historical significance; in 1878, Sheriff Jim Owens killed two horse thieves on this ranch.
